  • The Fire Element Class, taught by Francesca Fasano

    Date: Sunday, June 25, 2017

Five Elements Self-Care Sunday - Summer, The Fire Element

    Pre-Registration Required

Open to the public - Offered 5 times a year.

Summer is the season of the Fire Element in Chinese Medicine and the organs associated with FIRE are the Heart and Small Intestine. FIRE is hot and bright, and burns quickly. This means you could find yourself “burning the candle at both ends” with a multitude of summer activities just waiting to be enjoyed.

How do you tame an overactive FIRE? Why with WATER, of course. And in the body, the WATER element organs are the Kidneys and Bladder. The Kidneys are considered the batteries of the body responsible for carrying and maintaining the energy needed to keep us running smoothly. Just like any battery, theses “batteries of the body” also need to be recharged regularly. Especially during the times of the day when they are most active, between 3pm and 7pm. Ever wonder why you feel a drop in your energy around this time of day, and you feel like you want to take a nap? This is your body’s way of telling you it’s time to recharge.

SO…I invite you to come recharge your batteries so that you have more energy to play this summer. You will learn some great self-care Chi Kung, Chi Nei Tsang, and meditation techniques to help you stay cool this summer.

This class counts for 2 CE hours under Self-Care for NCBTMB
